Healthy societies depend on the protections afforded by a strong justice system. But who protects the protectors? The dangers experienced by police are well known, however the risks faced by Prosecution Service staff in this era of increasingly prolific and powerful criminal gangs are less recognized and acknowledged.
Intimidation, threats, and assaults against prosecutors have dramatically increased over the past five years. Most targeted attacks do not occur within the work environment which may have enhanced security; and so having a comprehensive security plan for your personal life is necessary.
This session focuses on what individual prosecutors can do to enhance their personal safety and security. The session will focus on the following key areas:
1. What makes you vulnerable as a prosecutor
2. Pathway to violence
3. Personal Safety Plans and Risk Management
4. Online and social media exposure and management
This 60-minute webinar will be held in English and no interpretation will be provided. However, attendees can access live automated translated captions via the Zoom platform during the webinar.
