PSV Network participates in training for South Sudanese prosecutors

6/14/2019

From 10-14 June 2019 in Nairobi, Kenya, PSV Network Co-Focal Point for Knowledge Exchange Barbara Goy and Coordinator Najwa Nabti participated in training 14 prosecutors from South Sudan on investigating and prosecuting international crimes, including sexual and gender-based violence. In cooperation with the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), the Mechanism OTP developed a training program which focussed on international criminal law as applicable in South Sudan, with a particular emphasis on sexual and gender based violence. The training included lectures, exercises built around a fictitious case study as well as group discussions and courtroom simulations involving a mock victim-witness. The Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation provided generous financial and logistical support, together with UNMISS.
