Co-option of a member to fill in a vacancy on the Executive Committee

The Executive Committee agreed to co-opt Mr. Juan Bautista Mahiques, Attorney General of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires to fill in a vacancy within the Latin American region.

In accordance with the IAP Constitution, Article 8.7, the Executive Committee may co-opt a member to fill in a vacancy occurring among ordinary members of the Executive Committee. Such co-opted member shall serve until the termination of the next General Meeting.

During the 47th Meeting of the Executive Committee in Oslo, April 2019, the Executive Committee agreed to introduce a change of the past practice so that an agreed co-option should be posted on the IAP website to provide the general membership a possibility to express any objections.

On behalf of the Executive Committee, we are pleased to announce that the Committee agreed to co-opt Mr. Juan Bautista Mahiques, the Attorney General of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, in a vacancy within the Latin American region. The co-option will have immediate effect with a possibility to terminate, should objection from the membership be considered well founded.

Any objections to this co-option should be submitted to the Executive Committee via ed@iap-association.org within 30 days and should be detailed and clearly state the grounds for the objection.
