Questionnaire on case weighting in public prosecution services

In order to identify the countries that have put in place an effective system of case-weighting within public prosecution services, the CEPEJ proposes to submit a short questionnaire to the members of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP).

In July 2020, the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) adopted a Report on case-weighting in judicial systems (see definition in the electronic questionnaire).

Following numerous expressions of interest from justice professionals, the CEPEJ decided to pursue its work in this field focusing on prosecutors.

The aim is to take stock of which systems exist, what their advantages and disadvantages may be, and to provide a platform for discussions on this subject.

I kindly ask you to fill in this important questionnaire by 30 April 2022.

As a second step, CEPEJ experts will be entrusted with exploring such systems in detail.

The IAP will be involved in the future work on case-weighting for prosecutors. The CEPEJ will keep the IAP informed of further developments at each stage of the process, and the IAP Secretariat will keep you informed of the outcome.
