IAP supports New Zealand prosecutors

3/16/2019

To the Solicitor-General of the Crown Law Office of New Zealand.

The Hague, Netherlands, 16 March 2019.

Dear Solicitor-General, dear Ms. Una Jagose QC,

It is with sadness that the International Association of Prosecutors learned about the terrible attacks at mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. Please accept the condolences of our Association and of our members from all over the world.

The International Association of Prosecutors would like to offer its assistance and support, but also from all its members, as prosecutors to prosecutors, to your Prosecution Service, as a highly appreciated member of our Association. Perhaps you would like to have information about similar tragedies in the past. For sure our Norwegian member is willing to share their experiences in the Brevik case with you.

On behalf of all member prosecutors of the world, we would like to wish you all strength, knowing that not only the people of New Zealand will keep a close view on your important work, but also all fellow prosecutors of the world will follow your work in this extraordinary criminal case with great interest.

Your sincerely,

Gerhard Jarosch, President
Han Moraal, Secretary-General
International Association of Prosecutors
