Cancellation of the 25th IAP Annual Conference

4/22/2020

The Executive Committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the 25th IAP Annual Conference in Athens, Greece, due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Announcement of the IAP Secretariat to the Members

Dear IAP Member,

As you know, the current global health crisis has already led to the cancellation or postponement of a countless number of global and domestic events. Currently, the degree of uncertainty concerning the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 in the upcoming months continues to pose a threat to the activities of all organisations.

The IAP had to reconsider the hosting of its upcoming activities. Since the outbreak of the virus, the IAP Secretariat has been monitoring the situation closely in order to act in due time and in the best interest of our members. Hence, considering the fact that the virus continues to spread globally, the uncertainty about further lockdown restrictions and the limitations in the international flight connections, the IAP Executive Committee, in full agreement with the Greek Local Organising Committee, has made the difficult decision to cancel the 25th IAP Annual Conference and General Meeting, which was scheduled to be hosted in Athens, Greece from 6 – 10 September 2020.

We are truly saddened to deliver such disappointing news. However, given the current circumstances, we believe that this is the best course of action, as our priority lies with safeguarding the health and safety of our participating members and staff. We apologise for the inconvenience this decision may cause and thank you for your understanding.

We recognise all the hard work, that so many have put into the preparation of this event and we are eternally grateful to them.

On behalf of the IAP, we wish you good health and safety during these unpredictable times and look forward to seeing you again in better circumstances.

The IAP Secretariat
