MLA Conference 2020
Date: Monday 8 June 2020 - Friday 19 June 2020
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia have the pleasure announce that the Diplomatic Conference will take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 8 to 19 June 2020.
The aim of the diplomatic conference is formal negotiations that will result in the adoption of the MLA Convention. This will be a crucial step within the so called "MLA Initiative", which is led by Slovenia, together with Argentina, Belgium, Mongolia, the Netherlands and Senegal.
Please note that the attendance at the Conference should be confirmed by 8 May 2020 or by 25 April 2020 in case of a visa obligation by registering at www.gov.si/en/mla-initiative.
The primary working language of the diplomatic conference will be English. Plenary sessions will benefit from English, French and Spanish interpretation.
All documents relevant for the Diplomatic Conference (draft treaty, draft rules of procedure, draft agenda, etc.) are available at the Ministry's website: www.gov.si/en/mla-initiative. All practical details, including accommodation options and logistics will be available in the "Handbook for Participants" on the same website.
Prior to the Diplomatic Conference a revised draft MLA Convention as well as revised draft Rules of Procedure will be shared with the invitees in March. This is in order to reflect discussions and comments made by the participants at the MLA Initiative informal consultations, which took place in The Hague, 27–29 January 2020.
