Date: Saturday 22 April 2023 - Saturday 22 April 2023

Location: Virtual meeting.

After a few years of not being able to meet in the Global Forum of Associations (GFA) due to the Covid-problems, we had a lively and engaging session together at the 27th IAP Annual Conference and General Meeting in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The topic was Associations of Prosecutors: Organisational and Covid-challenges’ and we had three very interesting presentations from our colleagues in Portugal, Brazil and India.
Following the presentations, we engaged in a discussion about future plans for the GFA to gather and share information and ideas. Recognizing that it is sometimes difficult for all members of the GFA to gather in-person, and with a desire to strengthen our group and connect more frequently, we agreed that we would hold a mid-year virtual meeting on April 22nd, 2023, 3:00-5:00pm GMT.  There will be no cost to attend.
The topic of the meeting will be "Barriers to Justice: Shedding Light on the Mental Health and Wellbeing of Prosecutors".  The meeting will be hosted by the Portuguese Prosecutors Association (SMMP) and chaired by Kate Matthews of the Canadian Association of Crown Counsel (CACC). It will feature a presentation from the CACC on the results of a recently commissioned mental health study of Canadian prosecutors. Following the presentation, we will have time for an open discussion about strategies that can be employed to further the health of prosecutors.
We understand this to be a very pertinent area of interest for association across the globe, and look forward to the discussion!  If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at associations@iap-associations.org.
Further details with respect to registration and accessing the virtual platform will be forthcoming.
