1/4/2016

Jason Alliman, who a member of the IAP, died on December 27 from his injuries.

It is with great sadness that we received the news about the death of one of our young members Mr.  Jason Alliman who was a prosecutor working within the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in Jamaica.

Jason Alliman, who was only 26 years old, succumbed to injuries he received in a motor vehicle accident on 7 December. The accident occurred whilst Jason was returning from a Special Sitting of the Court of the Appeal, in Lucea Hanover, some four (4) hours away from Kingston. He was at the time on assignment with the Director of Public Prosecutions, Ms Paula Llewellyn, QC.

Jason was travelling alone in his motorcar when he picked up a skid and collided with a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.  His car overturned and he suffered severe head injuries resulting in unconsciousness. He underwent surgery and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Cornwall, Regional Hospital in Montego Bay. He never regained consciousness and subsequently died on December 27.

The IAP offer our sincere condolences and sympathies to his family, friends and colleagues.

Derk Kuipers, Secretary-General of IAP
