Who Can Apply?

Individual membership may be granted to a prosecutor.

"Prosecutors" means any lawyer who is or has been appointed by or on behalf of the state or other public authority to prosecute criminal offences or who is or has been elected for that purpose and includes lawyers who have regularly been retained by a prosecutor so appointed or elected to conduct or assist in the conduct of criminal prosecutions and also includes examining  magistrates.

Organisational membership may be granted to prosecution services, associations of prosecutors and crime prevention agencies, regional and other groupings of prosecutors.

Since 1995 the IAP has grown to include individual and organisational members from over 171 countries. The organisational members, which are drawn from every region of the world, represent over 300,000 prosecutors.
