About the Committee
The Executive Committee is the managing and administrative body of the Association. It consists of not less than ten and not more than thirty members who, in accordance with the Association’s Constitution, represent as far as possible the regions of the world which contribute members. There are at present thirty members from twenty-six countries, and the Immediate Past President. The Secretary-General is the Chief Executive of the Association and manages its day to day affairs.
The Association elects a President, six Vice-Presidents and a Secretary-General who are ex officio members of the Executive Committee which, subject to the decisions of the Annual General Meeting, is the governing body.
The Executive Committee appoints the General Counsel of the Association. He or she is also an ex officio member of the Executive Committee; in particular he facilitates and coordinates the project work of the Association.
